“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
Have you struggled with doubt, confusion, or uncertainty? We all have. Maybe you wonder why God allows terrible things to happen, or you stopped believing in miracles. So how does God respond to these emotions?
There are many accounts in the Bible that display doubt among faithful believers. These stories show how deeply God cares because He listens and responds to their questions. God loves when we come to Him with these feelings because it's an open door for Him to speak to us. He isn't surprised or offended by our uncertainties. Since Jesus thoroughly understands our human frailty, He wants to show us mercy and kindness. Even if He doesn't provide an answer right away, keep seeking the Lord, and He will show you the way.
What circumstance in your life has caused you to question God? Meditate on Mark 9:23-24 and see how Jesus responds to this father's doubt.
