“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
We serve a God of humility—One who left the throne of heaven to take on the cross for our sins. Jesus’ death is a profound lesson in humility and a reminder that we must strive to be humble. As His followers, He calls us to acknowledge our wrongs and confess our sins to receive His grace.
Even though Jesus never sinned, He became sin for us out of His great love and compassion (2 Corinthians 5:21). “He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross” (Philippians 2:8).
This Lent, let’s remember to take on humility as we faithfully serve Him.
Lord, in my poverty of spirit, use me to increase Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
